Getting Started with Analytics
The analytics dashboard is your central hub for understanding how your properties are performing. This guide walks you through the layout, filtering tools, and saved views feature.
Navigating to Analytics
Section titled “Navigating to Analytics”Click Analytics in the sidebar under the Automation group. You will land on the dashboard with the Reservations tab selected by default.
Dashboard Layout
Section titled “Dashboard Layout”The dashboard is divided into three main areas:
-
Tab bar — Switch between the six analytics tabs (Reservations, Reviews, Portal, Tasks, Financials, Staff Performance). Tabs you do not have permission to access are hidden.
-
Filter bar — Sits below the tabs and contains the date range picker, date aggregation selector, property filter, and any tab-specific filters.
-
Content area — Shows KPI cards at the top followed by charts and tables below. The content changes based on the active tab and filters.
Filtering Your Data
Section titled “Filtering Your Data”Date Range
Section titled “Date Range”Every tab shares a date range picker that controls the time window for all KPIs and charts. The default range is the last 30 days. Click the date picker to select a custom start and end date.
All KPI cards automatically compare the selected period against the previous equivalent period. For example, if you select April 1-14, the comparison period is March 18-31.
Date Aggregation
Section titled “Date Aggregation”The aggregation selector controls how time-series charts group data points:
| Aggregation | Best for |
|---|---|
| Daily | Short date ranges (under 2 weeks) |
| Weekly | Medium ranges (2 weeks to 2 months) |
| Monthly | Longer ranges (2-12 months) |
| Quarterly | Year-over-year views |
SuiteOp automatically suggests an aggregation level based on your date range, but you can override it manually.
Property Filter
Section titled “Property Filter”Use the property filter to narrow data to specific properties. You can select multiple properties. When no properties are selected, data from all your properties is included.
Tab-Specific Filters
Section titled “Tab-Specific Filters”Each tab has additional filters relevant to its data:
- Reservations — Reservation status, booking source
- Reviews — Review source, rating (1-5 stars), dispute status
- Portal — Upsell type, upsell stage
- Tasks — Department, task status, task priority
- Financials — Department, approval status
- Staff Performance — Department
Saved Views
Section titled “Saved Views”If you frequently check the same combination of filters, you can save it as a view for quick access later.
- Set up your preferred filters (date range, properties, tab-specific filters)
- Click Save View and give it a name (e.g., “Downtown properties — last 90 days”)
- Your saved views appear in a dropdown for one-click reloading
Saved views persist across sessions, so you can return to your preferred dashboard setup without reconfiguring filters each time.
Reading KPI Cards
Section titled “Reading KPI Cards”Every tab starts with a row of KPI cards. Each card shows:
- Current value — The metric for the selected date range
- Trend badge — An arrow and percentage showing the change versus the previous period. Green indicates improvement, red indicates decline. Some metrics are “inverted” (like cancellation rate or overdue rate) where a decrease is positive.
Next Steps
Section titled “Next Steps”Dive into the individual tab guides for detailed explanations of every KPI and chart:
