Device FAQs
SuiteConnect, SuiteOp’s smart device platform, enables you to control your smart devices in one centralized place and use custom automations to set temperatures, control noise, set dynamic reservation codes, and more. Here we’ve compiled some common questions about SuiteConnect to make sure your set up & management is seamless.
How can I find out when a device went offline?
Section titled “How can I find out when a device went offline?”All device events can be found in the Activity tab of the device detail panel. This shows any events the device reports to us, including connection and disconnection events. If the disconnection time is not listed, the data was not provided by the device. Sometimes there can be a slight delay in activity updates. See Device Activity Logs for more details on using the activity feed.
What noise monitors does SuiteOp integrate with?
Section titled “What noise monitors does SuiteOp integrate with?”Currently we only integration with Netatmo devices for noise monitoring. Netatmo measures noise, CO2 levels, and more. Integrated with SuiteOp you can set custom thresholds and alerts, automatically contact your guests when limits are reached, and download reports for dispute documentation.
How can I see what code was used to open the lock?
Section titled “How can I see what code was used to open the lock?”You can see what code was used to open a lock in the Activity tab of the device detail panel. Look for Access events — they show whether a User code, Reservation code, or Backup code was used. Any codes not added through SuiteOp won’t be detected here, and deleted codes will not display. If you are investigating a code use, it is recommended to view the activity data before removing the code. For security, the actual lock codes are not shown — only the code type.
See Device Activity Logs for a full guide on filtering and interpreting activity events.
What smart locks are recommended?
Section titled “What smart locks are recommended?”SuiteOp is hardware agnostic, meaning any compatible lock will look and act the same in SuiteOp’s interface. Some of the most popular and reliable lock are Yale and Schlage.
Should I get Wifi or Z-wave locks?
Section titled “Should I get Wifi or Z-wave locks?”Both wifi and z-wave locks will work with SuiteOp. Wifi connected locks tend to cost less, but have a shorter battery life by a few months. Z-wave locks are reported to be a bit more reliable, but cost more, and are dependent on SmartThings for compatibility.
