Identity Check
The identity check step asks guests to photograph their government-issued ID and take a selfie. SuiteOp’s AI compares the two, extracts the document details (name, date of birth, ID number), and flags anything that doesn’t match the reservation for your review.

What guests see
Section titled “What guests see”When a guest reaches the identity check step in their pre-check-in flow, they go through the following screens:
- Consent — A brief explanation of what the identity check involves and a checkbox to agree. On desktop, guests can scan a QR code to continue on their phone (for easier camera access).
- ID type — The guest selects their document type: Passport, Driver’s License, or Identification Card. Capture tips are shown (good lighting, clear edges, legible text).
- ID photos — The guest photographs the front of their ID. For driver’s licenses and ID cards, the back is also required.
- Selfie — The guest takes a front-facing selfie. A preview with a retake option is available.
- Processing — SuiteOp’s AI analyzes the images, extracts document data, and compares the selfie to the ID photo.
- Result — The guest sees one of three outcomes:
- Passed — Verification is complete
- Manual Review — The check flagged something and your team will review it
- Failed — The check did not pass (the guest can retry)
Reviewing identity check results
Section titled “Reviewing identity check results”Open a guest’s reservation and scroll to the verification section. Click on the Identity Check step to see:
- ID images — Front, back (if applicable), and selfie photos the guest submitted
- Extracted data — Name, date of birth, and ID number pulled from the document
- Document validation — Whether the ID appears authentic
- Risk score — An overall confidence rating
- Outcome — Passed, Failed, or Manual Review
If the outcome is Manual Review, compare the ID photo with the selfie and check that the extracted name matches the reservation. You can then approve or decline the guest from the reservation panel.
